What this website collects
This website collects the minimum it needs to run: information you choose to send through the contact form — your name, business, email, phone, service needs and message — along with basic hosting logs (page request, IP address, user-agent) generated by the platform that serves the site, and standard email metadata when you write to us directly. We do not run first-party analytics, advertising pixels, remarketing tags, marketing automation scripts or third-party chat widgets on public pages. Cookies used by the platform are limited to session or theme preferences that the site needs to render correctly — not tracking.
How enquiries are handled
When you submit the contact form, the enquiry record stores your name, business, email, phone, service needs and message in the in-app enquiry database that powers the enquiry inbox. When configured, a notification email containing the enquiry is sent through the installed email service to the bookkeeping team at andrew@brisbanebookkeepers.com.au. We use this information only to understand and respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, keep an organized record of the conversation — not for advertising, selling data or unrelated marketing. Information does not leave the bookkeeping team except where the engagement or your specific request requires coordination with another authorised adviser or third party.
When we share information
We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own use. The exception is the narrow set of service providers we rely on to operate the site: the platform that hosts and serves it, and the email service that delivers enquiry messages. These providers receive only the data needed to perform their function and are bound by their own privacy obligations. We also disclose information where required by Australian law, in response to a valid legal process, or where necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of the practice, our customers or others.
Enquiry records and replies are retained for up to five years after your last enquiry or, if you become a client, the end of the relevant engagement — whichever is later. We review records during that period and delete or de-identify them when they are no longer needed, unless a longer period is required by law or necessary to maintain a legally required business record. This helps us respond to enquiries, maintain necessary business records and honour access, correction and deletion requests where legal record-keeping allows. Hosting logs are short-lived and rotated by the platform.
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it or ask us to delete it where reasonable. You can also use the contact form or email to opt out of future correspondence. We respond to reasonable requests within a practical timeframe. If you are not satisfied with our handling of your information, you can raise a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
The platform that hosts this site uses transport encryption (HTTPS/TLS) for every page request, supports a strict content-security policy and isolates service boundaries between infrastructure components. Within the bookkeeping team, access to enquiry records is limited to the people who need it to do the work. No system is impervious; if a notifiable data breach occurs we follow the Australian Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
We may update this policy from time to time to keep it accurate and current with how the site and the practice operate. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
For any privacy question — to access, correct or delete your information, or to raise a concern — email us at andrew@brisbanebookkeepers.com.au. We treat privacy enquiries with the same care as any other message we receive.
